Vision Sunday (and intro to summer Community Small Groups!)

It’s been a good while since I posted anything, but rest assured I’ve been working away at capturing videos and snapping shots of our church family. Here are some fun grabs from Vision Sunday — refocusing on our mission toward discipleship and becoming more like Christ. It’s always good to check your compass after a while.

Also we’re starting up our small groups, led by members and focusing each on a different issue. It was a great time of fellowship and new introductions!

Concept Art “Parenthood”

While my camera is in the shop I figured I ought to keep up the productivity. I’ve finished chapter six of the novel and am about a third of the way through my sci-fi screenplay.

Here’s a sketch that I doodled and then transferred to canvas so that I could color it.

It’ll be for sale once I’m finished. Probably a fun piece to decorate a kids room with or an office if you’re a fan of Disney or Dreamworks animation.

I’ll be using acrylic on the canvas, and I have only color blocked the first layer, but here you go:

Jurassic World

This one isn’t finished yet, but I’m excited to see where it goes. This is completely drawn from scratch. I’ve never illustrated a dinosaur before, but I love velociraptors from the Jurassic movie series so I figure it’s a good place to start.

Shoutout to Owen from Jurassic World, played by the talented Chris Pratt, in Lego form currently on my desk (complete with motorcycle!)Dinosaur Rock Hopper Chase

I Built a Castle

Sort of. I drew it. On a computer. No photos involved (I love the night sky!)

I’ve been into animation since I was a wee thing, and, fairy creature that I am, fantasy elements typically play into my creations. So, whilst listening to the very talented Jim Dale narrate Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, I drew this. It’s completely original, and I have no idea what the rest of the world looks like outside of the image you see, because I have yet to create it.

Maybe I can work in video game production design, hmmm?

Shout out to Weta Workshop, who WILL be my future employer (or maybe just in my dreams..?)

Project Honest Photos

I’m getting annoyed with all of the makeup covered selfies and photoshop smooth portraits of people who aren’t comfortable in their own skin. So, although some would consider this, “unflattering,” I’d like to begin and promote photos and images of people the way they really look–spots and all.

Starting with myself. Let’s start fighting the selfie and all the vanity it spreads. God didn’t make a mistake when he created you. Honest Photos

P.S. Freckles are devastatingly underrated 🙂
